Discovery Science: Hovercraft Racing

Have you ever ridden on a hovercraft? It is like gliding on a cushion of air! In this free science program, you will make your own mini hovercraft using a CD or DVD and a balloon and investigate how the amount of air in the balloon affects how long the hovercraft hovers

Pat Kelley will be presenting an imagination-filled story-time at 11 a.m. with light snacks!

Then at 2 p.m. visitors are invited to bring their favorite dinosaur toy for a dinosaur program presented by Dave Hluchy! You can learn all about your favorite dinosaurs!

Telescope Clinic

Don't know how to use your new telescope? Have an old one laying around that you can't seem to get working? Then this event is for you! Bring your telescope and all of its parts/manuals and the TriState Astronomers can help you get going! Please call The Discovery Station (301) 790-0076 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins accepted as time allows.

24 Challenge Game Workshop

Children 9+ are invited to participate in Discovery Station's First 24 Challenge Game Workshop!
This fun game that children love also helps children sharpen basic math skills such as computation, problem solving, number sense, critical thinking, and pattern sensing!
Although this program is free to the public, space is limited to just 40 children. Please RSVP at 301.790.0076.

Discovery Science: Geyser Explosion

Are you a fan of making things messy when you're practicing your science skills? If so, this program is just perfect for you! The mad scientists at Discovery Station bring you another fun-filled geyser program where kids and adults can create their own explosions using Mentos and soda!

Special Friends Night

In partnership with WC Parents, Discovery Station would like to celebrate all the special needs families in our community and abroad with a night just for you!

That is why on Wednesday, March 9th from 5 pm - 7 pm, Discovery Station will ONLY BE OPEN for special needs families!

For this event, admission will be at our group rates:

$5 for adults
$3 for children 4-17 years of age

Please keep in mind that if your special needs family is affiliated with ASTC (Association of Science-Technology Centers) or Active Military/Reserves, admission is waived.

Pi Day Celebrations

Join us at Discovery Station as we kick off Pi Day Celebrations early! Every year March 14 is Pi Day - a day to celebrate the mathematical constant pi (π) and to eat lots of pie! We will be having numerous hands-on activities: Pi Crafts, an Albert Einstein costume contest, and even cream pie throwing!
