Spiderweb Discovery Bottle

This is a fun activity that puts a spooky twist on sensory bottles!

Children will be invited to make a Halloween themed sensory bottle.

This program is free with the price of admission into the museum.

October 8, 2016 @ 2 p.m.

Egg Drop Challenge

Children are invited to join us for this activity and take the "Egg Drop Challenge".

Children will be split up into eight groups and given the task to design a contraption using various materials to protect a raw egg from a fall.

This activity is great for third through fifth graders.

This program is free with the price of admission into the museum.

Oozing Jack-O-Lanterns

Want your jack-o-lanterns to put on a special show for Halloween? Join the mad scientists at Discovery Station as they show you how to get your pumpkins to ooze! Perfect for those of all ages!

Spooky Slime

Visitors of all ages are invited to join the mad scientists at Discovery Station as they make Spooky Slime!

Halloween Mystery Party

Children are invited to come dressed up in their Halloween Costumes and “Trick-or-Treat” through the exhibits for clues to discover during this Halloween Mystery Party!

There will be games and prizes too! Halloween cookies and witches brew will be served in the Café!

November 1, 2016 @ TUESDAY - SATURDAY: 10 A.M. - 4 P.M.

DINOVEMBER

Each Day in November, visitors will discover that the plastic dinosaurs inside Discovery Station have come to life and made mischief inside the museum during the night. Visitors are encouraged to take a selfie with the Dinovember scene and post it to Discovery Station's Facebook page. At the end of November, one visitor's selfie will be chosen and that visitor will receive a special dinosaur prize.

Maryland STEM FESTIVAL: LEGO Robotics

Discovery Station will be hosting a hands on training session ages 6 and up. Participants will construct and program of LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3s. They can also compete against one another in our LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Arena Challenges. Finally, they will be able to visit the real world application of robotics.

Maryland STEM Festival: Colonizing Mars?

Perhaps mankind’s greatest endeavor to date, Mars One’s mission is to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars by 2027. This informative program examines the various components behind the technology of the Mars One Settlement to determine if this is this mission is better served as a science fiction novel.

Santa's Workshop

Santa Clause is a big fan of science! This year his workshop is going to be based at Discovery Station!

Visit Discovery Station and watch Santa as he works in his Workshop - just North of our Dinosaur Exhibit.

Santa Pajama Party

Scavenger hunt, yummy goodies, and Santa Claus. Children are encouraged to dress in their pajamas, but must be dressed in appropriate and warm clothing. For all ages. Registration is required. Space is limited. 301/790-0076.
