This hands-on program making "Sound Sandwiches" educates children on the basic components of sound production.

The Very Lonely Firefly

Join us for a special story-time activity with Eric Carle's "The Very Lonely Firefly"! We will be reading his famous story and then doing a hands-on craft afterwards!
This program is free with the price of admission into the museum and is great for pre-schoolers up!

Egg Drop Challenge

Children are invited to take part in our Egg Drop Challenge! They will be asked to build a contraption that would protect an uncooked egg from an 8 ft. drop.

Junior Monarch Alliance

Join the Junior #Monarch Alliance today! The Discovery Station has partnered with The Monarch Alliance to host monthly programs that encourage citizen science and monarch conservation among our youth.

The Three Little Pigs

Join us for a special puppet show activity of "The Three Little Pigs"! There will also be a hands-on craft afterwards!
This program is free with the price of admission into the museum and is great for pre-schoolers up!

Ocean Conservation

This hands-on STEAM program educates children on the dangers of ocean pollution and what they can do to help stop pollution in our waterways.

4th of July Rockets

This hands-on craft program is a fun way to get you ready for the 4th of July weekend! Kids will create these fun Independence Day rocket decorations from some basic supplies and recyclables.

Candy Science

Children are invited to participate in our hands-on Candy Science program! We will be doing two science activities involving Skittles and Pop Rocks!

We recommend this activity for children ages 7 and up!

Discovery Station will be hosting the Authentic Community Theater for a family friendly play!

Hatching Dinosaur Eggs

Visitors of all ages can construct their very own dinosaur egg! This fun and educational activity is guaranteed to bring a smile to any Jurassic lover in your life!

What If There Were No Bees?

This hands-on program explores what will happen to our planet if all of the bees suddenly disappeared. This program is suitable for children 7 and up!

Solar Eclipse Viewing Box Workshop

On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Here in Maryland, people will only experience a partial solar eclipse. We want to prepare everyone for this solar eclipse and instruct them how to view it safely.

Join us at 2 p.m. for this hands-on workshop where kids will make a solar eclipse viewing box. All participants should bring one large cardboard box.

This program is free with the price of admission.

Elephant Toothpaste

The wacky scientists at Discovery Station are working on a science experiment where they will be creating the Volcanic Elephant Toothpaste. This fun program is great for kids of all ages!
