Halloween Mystery Party

Children are invited to come dressed up in their Halloween Costumes and “Trick-or-Treat” through the exhibits for clues to discover during this Halloween Mystery Party!

There will be games and prizes too! Halloween cookies and witches brew will be served in the Café!

Admission Prices:
Children Under Three: FREE!
Children Under Seventeen: $3.00
Adults: $5.00

November 1, 2016 @ TUESDAY - SATURDAY: 10 A.M. - 4 P.M.


Each Day in November, visitors will discover that the plastic dinosaurs inside Discovery Station have come to life and made mischief inside the museum during the night. Visitors are encouraged to take a selfie with the Dinovember scene and post it to Discovery Station's Facebook page. At the end of November, one visitor's selfie will be chosen and that visitor will receive a special dinosaur prize.

Maryland STEM FESTIVAL: LEGO Robotics

Discovery Station will be hosting a hands on training session ages 6 and up. Participants will construct and program of LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3s. They can also compete against one another in our LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Arena Challenges. Finally, they will be able to visit the real world application of robotics.

Climate Kids

This is International Science Center and Science Museum Day!

Kids will be introduced to ways that they can help combat the changing climate. Hands-on.

Kids will be invited to learn about how the change in the planet's climate is impacting the world's oceans. Hands-on.

This is International Science Center and Science Museum Day!

Families are encouraged to participate in this open lecture on the basics of renewable energy.

Maryland STEM Festival: Colonizing Mars?

Perhaps mankind’s greatest endeavor to date, Mars One’s mission is to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars by 2027. This informative program examines the various components behind the technology of the Mars One Settlement to determine if this is this mission is better served as a science fiction novel.

T-Rex Toothpaste

The Wacky scientists at Discovery Station are working on a science experiment where they will be creating the "Volcanic" T-Rex Toothpaste.

Basics of Code

Kids will work in teams to learn the basics of coding through this fun program with Legos!

Santa's Workshop

Santa Clause is a big fan of science! This year his workshop is going to be based at Discovery Station!

Visit Discovery Station and watch Santa as he works in his Workshop - just North of our Dinosaur Exhibit.

Snowy Christmas Tree Science

Children can build and decorate their own Christmas tree in this fun-filled workshop. Afterwards, they will use science to mix up sticky snow to put on their trees!

Santa Pajama Party

Scavenger hunt, yummy goodies, and Santa Claus. Children are encouraged to dress in their pajamas, but must be dressed in appropriate and warm clothing. For all ages. Registration is required. Space is limited. 301/790-0076.
