Climate Change and Ocean Sustainability
Discovery Station will be participating in the 3rd Annual Maryland STEM Festival and the International Science Center & Science Museum Day with a hands-on program that teaches children about how the changes in the world’s climate impacts the worlds oceans. This program is great for children 7 and up!

STEM Program With Industrial Commons
Discovery Station will be hosting Industrial Commons as they lead a STEM Program that has a classic take of Archimedes and the gold crown. This program will be coupled with an explanation and demo of density and of buoyancy.

Kids are invited to join the scientists at Discovery Station to make winter slime!

Santa Pajama Party
Join us for the 4th Annual Santa Pajama Party!
There will be a scavenger hunt through our exhibits, yummy goodies, and of course – Santa Claus! Santa will be handing out candy canes to all the good boys and girls!
Children are encouraged to dress in their pajamas, but must be dressed in appropriate and warm clothing.

DECEMBER 16TH, 2017 @ 11 A.M.
Children can build and decorate their own Christmas tree in this fun-filled workshop. Afterwards, they will use science to mix up sticky snow (Ooblek) to put on their trees! This #STEAM activity is recommended for ages five and up, and is free with the price of admission into Discovery Station.

Shaving Cream Marbling with Watercolors
Children can create their own masterpieces in this fun art activity that has them mixing up shaving cream and watercolors. All children will be able to make up a print and take it home with them!
JANUARY 6TH, 2018 @ 11 A.M.
Rain Clouds & The Water Cycle
Children are invited to learn about the world’s water cycle and make their own rain clouds in a jar in this fun hands-on educational activity. This program is suited for ages 7 and up.
JANUARY 13TH, 2018 @ 11 A.M.
Children will learn about the winter sky and constellations that they can see during this time of year. They will then make their own marshmallow constellations to take home with them. This program is suited for ages 7 and up!
JANUARY 20TH, 2018 @ 11 A.M.
In this hands-on science activity, children will learn about basic chemistry while building their own snowman from scratch. All children will be able to take home their snowmen to see them melt the next day. This program is suited for children 7 and up!
JANUARY 27TH, 2018 @ 2 P.M.
Glow-in-the-Dark Bouncy Balls
Children will make their own glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls during this hands-on science activity. This program is suited for children 5 and up!
FEBRUARY 3RD, 2018 @ 11 A.M.
Children ages 5 and up are invited to participate in these hands-on science activities that use skittles and pop rocks.

Valentine’s Day Math
This fun Valentine’s Day STEAM craft activity gets children excited about Math! Children will work in teams of four to complete their craft while doing basic arithmetic. This program is recommended for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Join us at Discovery Station as we explore the science behind frozen bubbles. This free program is suitable for those of all ages!
