
Discovery Station is pleased to host its Stay-At-Home Virtual Science Fair! This event is open to children in grades K-5 in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania! Children are invited to submit an individual science fair project following the guidelines below. The Deadline is May 1, 2020, at noon.
Note: Due to COVID19, all entries must be completed as individuals and participants must adhere to State laws on social distancing.
This Stay-At-Home Virtual Science Fair is broken down into two age groups:
Grades K-3
Grades 4-5
All participants must complete a registration form here.
All participants must read and follow the Stay-At-Home Virtual Science Fair Rules and Regulations.
Each participant will be required to research a science topic and design an experiment around that topic. Participants will be required to:
- Conduct an experiment around their topic
- Complete a report using the appropriate grade templates below
- Prepare a science fair board*, and,
- Submit the report, picture of your board, and a 60-second video reviewing your Science Fair Project to Brittany@discoverystation.org to be judged by a committee of special judges.

**If you are unable to acquire the supplies for a presentation board, a digital PowerPoint can be submitted instead.
All work must be the original work of the participants.
Each grade category will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.
Grades K-3
First Place Prize: Botley Coding Robot and Activity Set, LeanKing Digital Microscope, One-Year ASTC Family Membership valid at 380+ ASTC Museums
Second Place Prize: Exploring Nature Science Journal, Scientific Magnifying Glass, and two admission passes to Discovery Station
Third Place Prize: Volcano Science Kit, Astronaut Ice Cream, and a $10 Gift Certificate to Discovery Station
Grades 4-5
First Place Prize: LEGO ® Boost Robot and Activity Set, Harman Kardon Allure Powered Bluetooth®/Wi-Fi® speaker with Alexa voice control sponsored by Mid-Atlantic Sprint (Wesel Blvd. Store), One-Year ASTC Family Membership valid at 380+ ASTC Museums
Second Place Prize: Awesome Engineering Activities Book, Scientific Magnifying Glass, and two admission passes to Discovery Station
Third Place Prize: Robot Building Kit, Astronaut Ice Cream, and a $10 Gift Certificate to Discovery Station
