Our Weekly Programming Includes Thursday Story-Times and STEAM Saturday Classes. These programs are always included in regular admission and don't require registration, so drop on in! Keep reading for a full listing of this month's events.
Ex- STREAM Storytime
What is STREAM? It's Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math! Literacy is the foundational skill for all other STEAM fields, and our storytime programs help to instill a love of reading from an early age! The storytime starts every Thursday at 11 a.m. in our Imagination Station and will be followed by an activity that builds on the themes of the readings. These programs are most popular for families with Toddlers, Pre-K, and Kindergarten Children.

Thursday, August 24th at 11 a.m. | Back to School
Get ready for the first day of school with a reading of My First Day by Phung Nguyen Quang & Huynh Kim Lien! Follow a young Vietnamese boy as he journeys along the river to his first day at a new school. This story is perfect for preparing kids nervous about the new year! After, the kids will take their own river journey in a fun craft.
Thursday, August 3rd at 11:00 a.m. | The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Join us as we read and feed Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar together! We’ll use the new felt board in our Imagination Station to tell the classic children’s story together. After, the kids will make an egg carton caterpillar craft.

Join us for a Dinosaur story, followed by a fun fossil craft!

Thursday, September 30th at 11 a.m. | Moon Rope
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as we learn about moon myths from around the world with a bilingual story. After, kids will have the opportunity to create their own myth during a craft.
STEAM Saturday's
Join us for Hands-On Science demonstrations and activities every Saturday at 11 a.m. in our classroom adjacent to the STEAM Machine! These programs are most popular with ages 6+, but all ages are welcome!

Saturday, August 18th at 11 a.m. | Balloon Hovercrafts
Celebrate National Aviation Day by creating hovercrafts with Balloons and CDs. Kids will get hands-on experience with the physics of flight (and learn what a CD is!). Thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries, STEAM Saturday Programs are free with admission.
Saturday, August 26th at 11 a.m. | Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream
Kids and adults will be amazed by the spectacle of Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream! Learn about solids, liquids, and gas while making this tasty frozen treat. Afterward, kids will be able to eat the results of their science experiment!
Saturday, September 2nd at 11 a.m. | Making Music
Can you play a banana piano? Make music from toy cars? Kids will explore the foundations of circuits and electronic music in this hands-on program. Then we’ll go back in time with a make-and-take music box craft! This program is included with admission, thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries.
Saturday, September 9th at 11 a.m. | DNA Necklaces
Extract and observe your DNA in this hands-on workshop! After the experiment is complete, kids will fashion their DNA strands into a unique pendant necklace. This program is included with admission, thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries.
Saturday, September 16th at 11 a.m. | Oil Spill Clean Up
Celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day by learning about how to combat ocean pollution. In this hands-on activity, kids will clean water and feather after an oil spill. STEAM Saturdays are included with admission, thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries.
Saturday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. | Magic Packing Peanuts
How do you make styrofoam disappear? With chemistry, of course! Join us for this awesome science demo, followed by a craft. Kids will have an opportunity to build sculptures from sticky biodegradable packing peanuts! This program is included with admission, thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries.
Saturday, September 30th at 11 a.m. | Automatons
Kids will build a hand-cranked machine to investigate mechanics and patterns of motion. They’ll Blend art and engineering as they design their own mechanical art to display on their automaton! Thanks to our sponsors at JLG Industries, STEAM Saturday Programs are free with admission.
